Deryn and Phil bring many years of professional coaching experience plus senior business experience at Director level across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
We have coached people at all levels of seniority including Board members across the private, public and voluntary sectors. We are all accredited coaches. We have extensive experience coaching people from a range of different cultural backgrounds. We run coach training programmes and offer coach supervision.
Our shared enthusiasm to enable change in both business and personal development through coaching is motivated by the powerful changes that we have witnessed and been party to.
Internationally respected for her innovative ideas in putting learning into practice, Deryn has more than 25 years of diverse experience as a senior leader in the public sector, education and global organisations, including the BBC and the Center for Creative Leadership (USA and Europe). Her experience includes setting up new departments, managing organisation change and creating imaginative development opportunities for individuals, teams and organisations.
As Head of Training and Development for BBC Production, Deryn initiated the highly acclaimed Production Assignment Scheme that annually facilitated the movement of around 100 people across the corporation and outside the BBC.
Her clients include BBC, Unilever, DfID, Barclays Bank, UNESCO, The MPS, The British Council, Novartis, major charities, local government, national governments, education and the Health Service.
She has chaired an international charity and written about adult learning and assessment.
Deryn holds a Masters Degree in Continuing Education, the Advanced Diploma in Organisation Development (Columbia) and the MCIPD.
After 20 years as a classic finance guy (yes, his childhood ambition was to be a banker!), Phil finally realised that it wasn’t all about the money – it’s all about the people! Those ‘numbers’ only get you so far.
Phil was a successful international banker for nearly ten years and fortunate enough to live and work in London, New York and Sydney. Thereafter, he joined EDS (a global IT outsourcer) where he continued his finance career, leading the EMEA Treasury/Corporate Finance teams and then onto Finance Director positions in the UK.In the midst of all that success, his first epiphany was that he didn’t want to be an FD. And his second epiphany was that he did want to work with developing people. With such a strong commercial background this gave a fascinating and unusual perspective to learn and help others develop their leadership skills. It was a natural choice to become a coach, accredited through the ICF, and a facilitator of leadership development activities.
Phil recently published Coaching On-the-Go. A book for everyone in business showing them how to learn coaching skills to support their own leadership choices.
Phil also works in the university sector, both in Executive Education and teaching at Masters and PhD level. He completed his own PhD at Cranfield University, School of Management in the value of international assignments in 2019. He is now a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield and has published extensively.
